Serving the Community

Harris Firefighters protect lives and property from the adverse effects of fire.  Firefighters also respond to emergency medical situations, motor vehicle accidents, industrial accidents, hazardous material incidents and to mitigate other dangerous conditions. They also bring fire prevention education into school classrooms, neighborhoods, and businesses.

On-call Firefighters are compensated with a yearly sum according to the amount of effort and time that they expend.  While a time commitment is required to attend training sessions and respond to emergency calls, many find duty as a Harris Township Firefighter a rewarding and challenging way to serve the community.

The Harris Township Fire Department is committed to providing the best fire suppression, life safety and rescue service possible.
